  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline required
  • 1+ years of experience utilizing time studies and layout development in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Experience with CAD software for layout, racking, and tool design
  • Experience training operators in various workstations using standardized worksheets, JES, and SOPs
  • Lean Six Sigma preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of automotive paint shop experience preferred
  • Ability to stand for 8-12 hours per day
  • Required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 25 pounds
  • Ability to perform all duties in a working environment that may contain dust, high noise levels, hot and cold weather
  • The engineer will conduct time studies for developing the most efficient methods of completing tasks at workstations
  • The engineer will utilize MODAPTS methodologies to improve overall line efficiency
  • The engineer will be responsible for designing, purchasing, and implementation of racking and tooling required for workstations as needed
  • Utilizing continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma to increase throughput and workstation efficiency
  • The engineer will create standardized work instructions and Standard Operating Sheets
  • The engineer will utilize Total Quality Management (TQM) practices to ensure ergonomics and line balancing processes are running at peak efficiency
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned for departmental initiatives
