Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline required
- 1+ years of experience utilizing time studies and layout development in an automotive manufacturing environment
- Experience with CAD software for layout, racking, and tool design
- Experience training operators in various workstations using standardized worksheets, JES, and SOPs
- Lean Six Sigma preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of automotive paint shop experience preferred
- Ability to stand for 8-12 hours per day
- Required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to lift and carry at least 25 pounds
- Ability to perform all duties in a working environment that may contain dust, high noise levels, hot and cold weather
Responsibilities
- The engineer will conduct time studies for developing the most efficient methods of completing tasks at workstations
- The engineer will utilize MODAPTS methodologies to improve overall line efficiency
- The engineer will be responsible for designing, purchasing, and implementation of racking and tooling required for workstations as needed
- Utilizing continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma to increase throughput and workstation efficiency
- The engineer will create standardized work instructions and Standard Operating Sheets
- The engineer will utilize Total Quality Management (TQM) practices to ensure ergonomics and line balancing processes are running at peak efficiency
- Performs other duties as required or assigned for departmental initiatives
