Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry and at least 10 years of related professional experience, or 14 years of equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 10 years of progressive professional experience with increasing project management and organizational management responsibilities in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry.
  • At least 15 years of experience in the electrical distribution design industry.
  • Experience leading teams of designers delivering overhead and underground electric distribution projects using utility design and construction standards.
  • Experience leading managers of front-line employees.
  • Project management experience, including managing and growing a design team.
  • Experience developing and managing project managers in electric distribution.
  • Experience meeting client expectations and developing business.
  • Experience working in the Investor Owned Utility business model and regulatory environment.
  • Strong electrical distribution design knowledge.
  • Experience training and developing staff for current and future roles.
  • Experience creating and supporting a safe work culture.
  • Experience with storm restoration and damage assessment.
  • Experience positively supporting organizational, work-management, and design-system changes.
  • Proven leadership skills with successful project management, business management, and team collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the assigned region.
  • Develop client relationships, build trust, and grow business through account-development activities.
  • Assist with business-development opportunities, including conventions and trade shows.
  • Work with leadership and legal counsel on new-client contract reviews.
  • Own and understand the profit-and-loss statement for the assigned region and work to achieve desired results.
  • Work with Practice Leaders and Project Managers to ensure the region meets client targets for quality, quantity, cost, and commitment, and address deficiencies.
  • Develop and execute an approved staffing plan to meet client business needs and support the internal business plan.
  • Support other power-sector Regional Practice Leaders during work expansion or contraction.
  • Create continuity between the QTTI work groups.
  • Address QTTI key performance indicators and celebrate achievements.
  • Support employee personal development while maintaining budget allocations.
  • Lead similar technical practices within the designated regional market or geography.
  • Support Practice Leaders to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with regional practices to use shared expertise and implement best practices.
  • Contribute to growth strategies and business plans.
  • Drive collective success with other Regional Practice Leaders.
  • Foster a culture of performance excellence and collaboration.
  • Own business-development efforts to expand the regional practice beyond existing clients.
  • Nurture client relationships, identify expansion opportunities, and introduce new services or geographic markets within the technical practice.
  • Provide project and client leads to other Regional Practice Leaders.
  • Represent KCI in technical societies and community organizations.
  • Track market trends for annual and long-term strategic planning.
  • Support recruiting and retention efforts.
  • Prepare and deliver annual employee performance appraisals for assigned staff.
  • Provide input and recommendations for technical training and management and leadership development.
  • Work with senior leadership and the Chief Financial Officer to develop the annual budget.
  • Meet annual performance-agreement targets.
  • Deliver projects on time and within budget while meeting scope and quality commitments.
  • Negotiate scope, schedule, and fee estimates for large and significant projects.
  • Operate within corporate and project budget parameters.
  • Monitor effective use of equipment and personnel.
  • Provide technical project and staff oversight.
  • Serve as project manager on large or significant projects.
  • Develop project-specific safety plans and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety rules and regulations.
  • Meet regularly with clients to review project progress.
Desired Qualifications
  • An ABET-accredited engineering degree.
  • A professional engineering license.
  • A master's degree or Master of Business Administration.
  • Professional license or certification within the field of expertise.
  • Proposal engagement, including identifying expertise, scope, schedule, and fee.
  • Managing contingent-worker invoicing and billing questions.
  • Managing regional relationships with contracted staffing agencies.

KCI Technologies appoints Jason Hardebeck as Chief Technology Officer. Jason Hardebeck KCI Technologies Inc., a 100% employee-owned engineering, consulting, and construction firm, is pleased to announce Jason Hardebeck has joined the firm as Chief Technology Officer. Having previously served as an external member on KCI's Board of Directors, Hardebeck will step into his new position by leading the firm's technology strategy and integration. His responsibilities will include overseeing enterprise systems and business processes, guiding sector-specific technology and artificial intelligence initiatives, and directing the digital transformation office, the innovation incubator, and the technology sharing committee. After starting his career as a commissioned officer in the United States Navy, Hardebeck pursued roles in operations, engineering, and business development across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, renewable energy, and technology.
