- An Associate’s Degree or Nursing Diploma is required.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without sanctions is required.
- At least two years of full-time Registered Nurse experience in Telemetry or intensive care, or at least two years of combined experience in related healthcare positions, is required.
- Current Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross are required.
- Fluency in English, including written and oral communication, is required.
- Plan, prioritize, and provide proficient, age-specific, developmentally appropriate, and specialty-appropriate nursing care by applying advanced specialty clinical nursing knowledge and skills and ensuring the comfort and safety of patients and families.
- Follow physicians’ orders in the delivery of nursing care.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times.
- Adhere to required infection-control and isolation procedures and aseptic techniques in the delivery of patient care.
- Collect laboratory samples and perform laboratory testing in accordance with established policies and procedures and COLA and CLIA regulations.
- Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
- Assemble equipment and supplies for diagnostic or treatment procedures in the specialty service area and perform or assist others with procedures or treatments.
- Handle care in accordance with legal, hospital, facility, and departmental policies and procedures and established standards of nursing care and practice as defined by the state Board of Nursing.
- Perform and document assigned quality-assessment activities.
- Attend required staff meetings and other company-sponsored or mandated meetings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support is strongly preferred; Emergency Nurses Pediatric Course certification from the Emergency Nurses Association may be substituted.
