What believers are saying

  • Cloud migration to Sectra One Cloud in June 2026 enables scalable AI imaging analytics for 1.3M annual exams[1].
  • The new Lung Screening and Nodule Program launched December 2025 uses AI-enhanced imaging for early lung cancer detection[6][7].
  • Emory Johns Creek deployed the ION robot-assisted bronchoscopy system in 2026 for early, non-surgical lung cancer detection[7].

What critics are saying

  • Full reliance on Sectra One Cloud creates single-vendor lock-in with no on-premises fallback, risking paralysis from cloud outage[1][2].
  • Microbot Medical's LIBERTY system faces FDA scrutiny post-November 2025 release, with potential recall if adverse events emerge[3].
  • Healthcare AI Challenge lacks binding validation standards, enabling adoption of unproven models that cause diagnostic errors or workflow degradation[4].

What makes Emory Healthcare unique

  • Emory is Georgia's largest academic health system with 11 hospitals and 3,800 physicians across 70 subspecialties[2][5].
  • It uniquely integrates research, education, and clinical practice under Emory University to transform everyday and extraordinary care[1][2].
  • The system operates the Emory Healthcare Network, Georgia's largest clinically integrated network with 3,800+ physicians at 580+ locations[2][10].

Why you need to treat social media as a customer service channel.

Why you need to treat social media as a customer service channel. July 22, 2026 When Laura Kuechenmeister started leading the social team at Emory Healthcare, she came with a publishing mindset. It didn't take long for her to realize she also needed to think about social media from a customer service perspective. Laura Kuechenmeister, former corporate director of content marketing and design at Emory Healthcare, now senior marketing manager at City of Hope, Atlanta "Publishing is the way most brands still think about social media, even in 2026," she says, "but early on, people started using platforms like Twitter to complain to brands about their experience." Retail brands have spent years training customers to use social media for complaints, questions, and customer service. Consumer habits don't change when they're dealing with a healthcare organization, even when their private health information is involved. But healthcare organizations haven't kept pace. Kuechenmeister comments, "Even though it's been happening for so long, in the healthcare space we worry about the risk of engaging in public comments with people who might be prospective patients, and so we've really restrained ourselves." But she counters, "Despite the risk, there are real opportunities to build trust appropriately, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards." Best regards, Matt Humphrey President
