Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through are required.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is required.
  • Ability to work independently with strong initiative is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, is required, along with the ability to quickly learn Excede, RunBuggy, Super Dispatch, and Record360.
  • A strong customer service mindset when interacting with internal teams, carriers, and customers is required.
  • The role requires working in both an office environment and an outside area.
  • The role may require frequent kneeling, stooping, squatting, crawling, and climbing.
  • Good manual dexterity is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed is required.
Responsibilities
  • Build and distribute next-day delivery forecasts to the Service Team at the end of each day.
  • Coordinate local deliveries using in-house drivers, drive-away partners, or contracted trucking companies as directed by management.
  • Schedule Uber rides for drivers when needed.
  • Confirm DMV and fiancé status before scheduling customer deliveries.
  • Provide backup support for national inventory when the Transportation Supervisor is unavailable.
  • Work daily with Service Department leadership and foremen to align production schedules and unit accessibility.
  • Proactively identify inventory status changes and update accurate locations in Excede.
  • Review Record360 data to ensure proper usage and confirm that location contacts have all required resources.
  • Vet, onboard, and test new carriers before deploying them to all locations.
  • Train new carriers on proper TMS usage and tracking expectations.
  • Ensure all carriers use full tracking on every move.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with carriers through the TMS to ensure accurate estimated times of arrival and updated status logs.
  • Run weekly, monthly, and quarterly compliance reports using internal platforms.
  • Review movement data in the TMS to confirm estimated-time-of-arrival accuracy, delays, and communication logs.
  • Review hauling invoices for accuracy and ensure charges match across TMS, DMS, and carrier invoices before approving payment.
  • Update inventory and transportation data in the DMS, Excede, and TMS platforms, including RunBuggy, Super Dispatch, and Record360.
  • Support production, service, and sales teams with transportation updates, documentation, and information requests.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Two years of transportation, logistics, dispatching, or dealership operations experience is preferred.

Model 1 Commercial Vehicles has opened a new commercial vehicle centre in Elgin, Illinois, to serve fleet customers across the Chicagoland region. The facility, which soft-opened earlier in January, offers vehicle sales, service, parts and upfitting capabilities. Model 1 Elgin provides a one-stop solution for fleet customers, from vehicle acquisition and customisation to maintenance and long-term support. A ribbon-cutting event is planned for spring 2026.
