Requirements
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • A detail-oriented approach with verbal, written, time-management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • A high school diploma, preferably with one year of experience working with children and families in child welfare.
  • A valid New York State driver's license.
  • Availability for varying work hours, including evenings, based on program needs.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in supporting the CP Team.
  • Assist in planning and executing EFFC events.
  • Manage mail and correspondence, including family-planning letters, filing, and calendars.
  • Manage and organize case records for the unit, including creating new records, closing old records, and developing and maintaining a filing system.
  • Assist in preparing regularly scheduled reports and documenting services appropriately.
  • Serve as the point person for organizing the department's large mailings.
  • Participate in scheduled staff meetings and staff training.
  • Arrange, transport, and supervise visitations between children placed in out-of-home care and their parents, siblings, or significant others to promote continued relationships.
  • Coach families in communication to foster positive family relations.
  • Educate parents on accessing emergency assistance, supports, and community resources.
  • Assist families with goal setting, planning, and activities related to home-management tasks.
  • Schedule and confirm visitation schedules with birth parents and foster parents in accordance with visitation plans.
  • Provide supervision for visits with program-manager approval.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and facilitate visitation by providing transportation and childcare, suggesting alternate sites for family time, and providing weekend supervision of visits with supervisory approval.
  • Attend required internal and external trainings and meetings.
  • Provide written reports to case planners within 48 hours of visits so visits can be entered into Connections in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties assigned within the scope of the position.
