Requirements
  • Proficiency and knowledge of Connections and Microsoft Excel.

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • An MSW or related degree is preferred.
  • Two years of child welfare experience is preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Ability to travel between the Staten Island and Brooklyn sites when needed.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct supervision to Adoption and KinGap Specialists.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Adoption and KinGap team.
  • Manage and track the Adoption process from goal change through finalization.
  • Manage and track the KinGap process from goal change through finalization.
  • Ensure completion of Adoption Home Studies, track milestones, and ensure preparation of legal documents.
  • Actively manage Specialists' caseloads and work with Case Planning staff to remove barriers to finalization.
  • Work with ACS, adoption attorneys, and KinGap attorneys to expedite finalizations.
  • Oversee grants, projects, or audits associated with Adoption and KinGap.
  • Ensure timely submission of reports to Family Court for KinGap and Adoption cases.
  • Attend court proceedings as needed to provide updates on KinGap and Adoption cases.
  • Ensure the Adoption and KinGap team participates in Family Team Conferences for relevant cases.
  • Ensure adoptive children are photo listed when applicable.
  • Ensure the department meets city, state, and agency requirements.
  • Assist in monitoring and submitting special and exceptional rate packets.
  • Assist with coverage of the Family Team Conferencing team when needed.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned within the scope of the position.
