Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing.
  • Valid Ohio Licensed Practical Nurse license.
  • All required trainings, certifications, and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
  • Respect client privacy and handle client-related documents in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
  • Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic nursing care to clients participating in the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility.
  • Develop therapeutic relationships with residential clients and provide quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team in evaluating the client’s treatment process.
  • Assist providers, registered nurses, and other health care professionals with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Obtain patient health history, laboratory specimens, and vital signs within the scope of practice.
  • Implement provider orders, administer medication, and document medication administration.
  • Submit regular reports to the provider as requested.
  • Use knowledge of psychotropic and other medications in the treatment process and educate clients and residential staff about medications and health care needs.
  • Adapt to changing situations and assignments while providing services in behavioral health and autism residential treatment.
  • Consult with PRTF staff as needed to ensure quality client care.
  • Collect objective and subjective client data and report symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in client conditions to the registered nurse or provider.
  • Complete and maintain documentation of client data, reactions, and changes in condition.
  • Use therapeutic verbal and non-verbal techniques with clients as needed.
  • Use Safety Care procedures, including initiating and conducting the Floor Drop Transition and using de-escalation, physical safety, and physical management procedures when necessary to address an imminent risk of harm.
  • Coordinate client transfers to outside health care providers or medical facilities.
  • Participate in training and orientation of new residential health clinic employees.
  • Maintain proper use and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and ongoing training.
  • Perform other duties related to service delivery within the PRTF and as assigned by management.

  • Previous experience in behavioral health or providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Bellefaire JCB receives $522K grant to fight youth violence

The Semi J. and Ruth W. Begun Foundation, a supporting foundation of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, recently awarded a $522,000 grant to Bellefaire JCB to create the Begun Center for Youth and Family Resiliency, which aims to reduce youth violence through social skills education and conflict resolution training, according to a news release.
