Requirements
  • High School diploma is required.
  • Knowledge of science generally attained through studies resulting in a B.S., in science, engineering, biochemistry or related discipline, or its equivalent is desired but not required.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of process operations experience in a highly automated biotechnology manufacturing facility subject to Good Manufacturing Practices regulations.
  • Practical knowledge of regulations such as Good Manufacturing Practices and company Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Experience participating on work/study teams where collaboration, contribution, and results were expected.
  • Proficiency in common computer tools such as word processing, spreadsheets and web based applications.
  • Attention to detail and personal accountability.
  • Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and maintains professional relationships with area management and co-workers.
  • Ability to operate and weigh/check raw materials, assemble/clean/sterilize process equipment, and monitor processes.
  • Ability to revise and create process documents with minimal instruction and assist with investigations.
  • Ability to effectively use in-process automation systems such as Delta V and Syncade Interactions, OSI/Pi Historian and other systems (Maximo, SAP, Track Wise) to maintain production records.
  • Ability to lead in maintaining material and components inventory level.
  • Ability to review batch and exception reports with supervisor and Quality representative.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented manufacturing environment and interact with quality, materials management, and maintenance teams.
  • Willingness to work in a state of the art large scale cell culture facility with PPE and exposure to hazardous materials.
Responsibilities
  • Work on routine manufacturing assignments per written procedures, that are moderately complex with minimal instructions, with ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Weigh and check raw materials; assemble, clean and sterilize process equipment; monitor processes.
  • Complete electronic work instructions and maintain clean room environment to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Operate primary production equipment within the assigned functional area (i.e. bioreactors, chromatography skids, media or buffer preparation equipment, etc.), as instructed.
  • Effectively use in process automation system (Delta V and Syncade Interactions, OSI/Pi Historian) and other supporting business systems (Maximo, SAP, Track Wise, etc.) to maintain production records.
  • Revise and create process documents with little to no instruction; assist with process related investigations.
  • Lead in maintaining material and components inventory level.
  • Assist with reviewing batch and exception reports associated with each manufacturing lot, in conjunction with supervisor and Quality representative.
  • Provide assistance for area specific initiatives associated with a safe work environment.
