Requirements
  • 15+ years of MEP engineering experience with a significant portion in data centre or mission-critical environments
  • Demonstrable experience at Technical Director, Associate Director, or equivalent level
  • Deep expertise across data centre MEP/ELV systems: HV/LV, generators, UPS, precision cooling, EPMS, DCIM, and ICT infrastructure
  • Familiarity with Uptime Institute, TIA-942, and EN 50600 requirements
  • Strong commercial awareness across fee negotiation, scope definition, and risk management
  • Degree-qualified with Chartered Engineer status (CEng or regional equivalent) required
  • GCC experience preferred; UAE track record a strong advantage
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and sign-off authority across all data centre projects in the region
  • Define and maintain MEP/ELV design standards and delivery frameworks for mission-critical work
  • Lead technical input on major bids and proposals across the MESA region
  • Build and mentor a specialist data centre team within a 400+ strong MEP/ELV practice
  • Engage with clients, hyperscalers, EPCs, and authorities at Director level
  • Drive innovation across BIM, parametric design, and AI-assisted workflows
  • Represent Egis externally as the data centre practice establishes its market presence

Lochner appoints Karen Wiemelt to board with 35 years of nuclear and energy leadership

Wiemelt brings over 35 years of leadership experience in the nuclear and energy sectors, with expertise in programme management, environmental remediation and strategic planning. Wiemelt previously served as Senior Vice President and General Manager at Jacobs, where she led the company's global Energy, Security and Technology business unit. In that role, she managed a portfolio exceeding $1.5 billion in annual revenue and over 8,000 employees worldwide. She has also served on numerous industry and corporate boards.
