  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in FDA-regulated, IEC 62304 medical device software environments, focused on product-based Software Design Assurance/Control.
  • Detailed knowledge of Risk Management under ISO 14971, the software development lifecycle, and quality management system requirements related to Software Design Controls.
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Software Verification and Validation, software defect tracking and prevention tools, design traceability, Design for Quality, Agile, and Scaled Agile Framework.
  • Experience with complex medical systems containing software, hardware, and disposables.
  • Ability to interpret software design and code in C, C++, C#, or another object-oriented language to verify implementation of requirements.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Quality, Computer Science/Engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Ability to perform the minimum physical, cognitive, and environmental job requirements with or without accommodation.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and manage comprehensive software quality documentation, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Lead assessments of software designs by reviewing test and performance data to uphold quality, safety, and regulatory standards and address engineering deficiencies.
  • Lead the application, compliance, and continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and practices related to software development and validation, including software design and verification, risk management, systems validation, traceability, and cybersecurity risk management.
  • Track and risk-assess software anomalies for pre-market and post-market medical device software.
  • Conduct root cause analyses for software quality issues and validate design inputs such as usability, reliability, and performance.
  • Assess products and systems to identify defects, abnormalities, and design flaws by authoring and executing software test protocols and generating test reports.
  • Implement software quality plans and risk-management activities, use post-market analytics to monitor software performance, and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee regulatory planning and execution for new products and product changes, including preparation and submission of documentation for global registrations.
  • Develop plans, assess risks, implement actions, and optimize regulatory processes to improve efficiency while maintaining high compliance standards.
  • Communicate and present software quality standards and regulatory requirements to all levels of management.
