Requirements
  • Completion of four years of high school plus additional courses or training.
  • Successful completion within the past year of a college-based or accredited phlebotomy program, a Medical Laboratory Assistant program, or the equivalent of at least one year of full-time related work experience.
  • Experience with venipuncture and capillary procedures.
  • Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology or the National Credentialing Agency is required within two years from the date of hire.
  • Full vaccination against seasonal influenza and COVID-19, or exemption for medical or personal reasons through the employer's required statement.
Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical, office, and clerical procedures within and in support of the Laboratory under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager or designee.
  • Enter data for all specimens and/or register patient information in the Laboratory Information System database and department logs.
  • Enter data for test-associated charges, scheduled tests, and test results into the appropriate laboratory database as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of electrocardiogram procedures is preferred.
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification is preferred.
