Requirements
  • Board eligibility or certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties in Occupational Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, State of California, and local regulations, including workers’ compensation laws.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of medicine or a current California Medical Board license to practice in California; the license must be free from disciplinary actions.
  • Ability to medically supervise medical assistants, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in complex medical issues.
  • Strong understanding of technical processes, applicable safety regulations, and program/project management.
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and/or stand and walk for at least eight hours per day.
  • Ability to assume and maintain postural positions including kneeling, reaching, stooping, bending, crouching, and lifting.
Responsibilities
  • Provide programmatic occupational health services at the employee occupational health clinic.
  • Supervise and perform medical surveillance examinations.
  • Assess, treat, refer, consult on, and manage occupational illness and injury cases for employees.
  • Occasionally evaluate and treat non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Ensure employee health, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and best environmental, safety, and health management practices.
