Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, Sonography, or Nuclear Medicine.
  • Hold valid certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.
  • Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Alabama is preferred.
  • All experience levels are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy and/or physiology for interpretation or intervention.
  • Exercise professional judgment while performing services and maintain a demeanor complementary to quality care.
  • Deliver appropriate care, recognize patient conditions, and ensure successful completion of procedures.
  • Comply with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
  • Assess patients’ physical conditions and age-specific needs.
  • Provide instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Perform proper patient identification, acquire clinical history, and accurately document the information.
  • Position patients, equipment, and associated devices and manipulate technical factors to achieve high-quality images.
  • Assess diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, patient identification, and demonstration of relevant anatomy.
  • Apply MRI safety principles to patients, self, and others.
  • Comply with quality-control standards and participate in quality-control tasks.
  • Administer contrast medication with and without power injectors.
  • Perform venipuncture and evaluate intravenous access for prescribed contrast administration.
  • Administer medical aid during adverse reactions to contrast medication or other emergencies.
  • Apply standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Assist in supervising student technologists and training new technologists.
  • Use Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Ensure the safety of all customers.
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with applicable policies and regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational policies, department guidelines, and education requirements.
