Requirements
  • Experience of around 9+ years in Pipeline Design & Detail Engineering, primarily in Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical or Chemical sectors with large Engineering, Procurement and Construction companies or Engineering Consulting organizations.
  • Based in Mumbai/Vadodara office with willingness to travel to other Kent offices or Client offices as required; travel required at times.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Masters/Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an Indian University (UGC approved) or from an overseas university.
  • Good knowledge of Google Earth, AutoCAD/MicroStation, Excel/Mathcad; CAESAR II knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Position requires knowledge of operating company specifications and international standards for pipeline design.
  • Must be able to review Client technical documentation and requirements and contribute to updating company standards.
  • Prepare design basis/Project Execution Plan/Technical Completion Reports for pipeline design and interface with relative process and other disciplines.
  • Prepare technical specifications and data sheets for purchasing material.
  • Check results of surveys carried out by sub-contractors.
  • Optimize the laying route and carry out route selection study.
  • Assist with selection of laying spread/methods and perform/review installation design analysis for pipeline system.
  • Perform technical bid evaluation and oversee bid evaluation and procurement phases.
  • Review alignment sheets prepared by pipeline designers.
  • Verify and act upon remarks/comments of Client/Certifying Body.
  • Assist pipeline lead or project engineering manager in solving technical problems arising during project development and interfacing with procurement.
  • Perform/verify all discipline analyses and calculation notes required to design the pipelines system, including third parties/sub-contractors.
  • Define standards and procedures for the relative engineering area and contribute to software evaluations.
  • Detailed design of onshore flowlines, trunklines, transfer lines and export pipelines.
  • Review pipeline calculations, pipeline material specifications and data sheets, Vendor Technical Bid Evaluations, pipeline drawings, pipeline stress analysis reports.
  • Have good knowledge of Google Earth, AutoCAD/MicroStation, Excel/Mathcad.
  • Exposure to subsea and offshore pipeline design, and construction and commissioning of pipelines would be added values.
Responsibilities
  • Review Client's technical documentation and requirements.
  • Ensure an adequate standard of technical documentation and contribute to updating Company standards.
  • Review the Client’s technical documents during the bid phase. Prepare technical queries, Qualifications, Clarifications.
  • Prepare the design basis/PEP/CTRs for the pipeline design and interface with the relative process and other disciplines.
  • Prepare the technical specifications and data sheets for purchasing material.
  • Check the results of surveys carried out by sub-contractors.
  • Optimize the laying route. Carry out Route selection study.
  • Assist with the selection of laying spread/methods and perform/review installation design analysis for the pipeline system.
  • Perform technical bid evaluation. Oversee the bid evaluation and procurements phases.
  • Review the alignment sheets prepared by pipeline designers.

  • Subsea and offshore pipeline design experience, exposure to construction and commissioning of pipelines would be added values.

  • Experience with Google Earth, AutoCAD/MicroStation, Excel/Mathcad is already listed; include any additional desirable tools if present.
  • Experience working with large EPC companies or Engineering Consulting organizations.
