Braun Intertec is seeking Specialty Testing Technicians to join our Bloomington, MN and/or White Bear Lake, MN offices. Work will be performed in the field on various commercial, industrial, and transportation construction projects. Work will primarily be located throughout the Twin Cities and surrounding areas, however, travel to Greater Minnesota and out of state may be required up to 50 percent of the time.
Candidates must have the ability to effectively communicate with Braun Intertec project personnel, technicians, clients, and contractor’s representatives regarding project requirements, testing needs and results. Technician will also perform testing using a variety of test methods, prepare and submit testing and observation reports. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in year round in varying weather conditions and be able to regularly lift 50 pounds.
The chosen candidate(s) will receive in-depth technical training and industry certifications as needed based on their experience and skill level. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine to complex sampling and testing including, but not limited to, anchor testing, load testing, concrete coring, floor flatness testing, infiltration testing, pavement FWD, pavement GPR, high and low frequency GPR, ground resistivity, and slab moisture testing
- Troubleshoot and adjust testing to meet site conditions and project needs.
- Provide clear documentation of field activities entered daily in electronic format.
- Work independently or as part of a small project team.
- Assist with training & mentoring of junior staff
All candidates must have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver's license and good driving record for the last 3 years
- The ability to lift 75+ pounds
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- A strong safety focus and attention to detail
- The ability to work overtime and weekends as necessary
- The ability to occasionally travel out of town for up to 5 days at a time
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience driving a pickup truck or other large vehicles
- Mechanical aptitude with practical problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated technical and mechanical aptitude for test equipment and electronics.
- 2+ years of experience in construction or mechanical related field

Compensation Range:
$48,000.00 - $72,000.00
