As an Investment Analyst,  you are joining a Techstars team responsible for sourcing, recruiting and helping to accelerate the growth of companies in which we invest. You will be tasked with building community across two accelerators, and will touch nearly every aspect of our programs and ecosystem, from our staff, partners, intern programs, founders, alumni, mentors, VCs and the broader ecosystem in which our accelerator programs exist (NYC and Indy/Midwest). You will be the primary point of contact for our founders in accessing Techstars perks, benefits and programming, and the go-to person to connect our founders across our ecosystems and the broader Techstars Community.  You will participate in sourcing and hiring interns and/or associates who assist with program efforts.  This role will report to the Investment Principal.

Your Role:  

• Identify, source, and enable screening of startups in support of your program team 
• ID unique recruiting channels including online research, networking events and referrals from our network
• Conduct research to clarify market opportunities of potential companies in the pipeline 
• Manage the logistics of the application and onboarding process 
• Support the design and development of the program schedule in concert with your program team
• Conduct research to validate the total addressable market and develop business development targets for companies in which we have invested
• Support companies in customer validation and providing research for all elements in the development of their financial model
• Liaison with partners for the sports accelerator, ensuring that founder requests and partnership conversations progress efficiently
• Develop relationships and personal brand in NYC startup community as a super connector, Techstars Evangelist, and hub for founders, mentors, and investors to engage with our accelerators
• In conjunction with the Investment Principal, manage program interns and operations associates

Qualifications:

• You are personable, community-oriented and enjoy networking 
• Strong emotional intelligence, experience with recruiting, vetting or advising entrepreneurs is a plus
• Intellectually curious and have a thirst for learning
• You are a problem solver and enjoy building upon and improving processes 
• Proven attention to detail through prior work or life experience
• Experience with Excel or Google sheets and command of English language spoken and in writing
• A genuine passion for technology and startups, an entrepreneurial mindset and a desire to learn; passion for sports is a plus!
• Comfortable working in ambiguity but with high expectations 
• Systems thinker with an eye for things that do not scale and the capability to design new processes and systems for implementation across programs. 
• 2-4 years of experience working in early stage companies, in recruiting agency or human resource-related role or other roles that demonstrate experience in above responsibilities
• Flexible/hybrid work arrangement as programs are in person in NYC and Indianapolis, requiring availability to travel for the summer Sports Accelerator (IN)
• Subject matter expertise in financial modeling strongly preferred

Compensation:$75,000 - $90,000 +  10% Bonus
