Millennium Health partners with CDC on drug testing dashboard to track US overdose trends

Millennium Health has partnered with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to power a new public dashboard tracking US drug use trends. The dashboard uses clinical urine drug testing data from Millennium Health to report quarterly and six-month trends for fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine and polysubstance use at national and regional levels. The specialty laboratory processes thousands of urine drug tests daily across the US. Trends in positive test results strongly correlate with fatal drug overdose deaths, providing timely surveillance data. "We strive to have the timeliest data about drugs that are driving overdose deaths," said Grant Baldwin, director of CDC's Division of Overdose Prevention. The CDC will distribute the dashboard to state and local health departments to support overdose prevention efforts.
