Small and medium-size enterprises (SME) are one of the biggest drivers of growth and innovation in economies all over the world. Despite these companies being a powerful force in the economy, many SMEs find it difficult to raise capital during critical stages of their company growth. Traditional commercial lending is optimised to make loans that are either too small to be effective or too large and expensive to be practical. At OakNorth, our mission is to help lenders fill this gap which we refer to as the “Missing Middle.” We are building a SaaS platform called the Credit Intelligence Suite which transforms commercial lending by helping banks build deeper relationships with their clients, open new, more profitable opportunities, whilst delivering credit decisions up to ten times faster than traditional models, with lower risk and greater efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage aspects of the sales process including lead identification and management, qualification and structured progression through sales stages
- Engage in outbound lead generation activities, including prospecting, cold calling, and email campaigns to identify new sales opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders of customers and prospects, with support from senior team members
- Collaborate with internal teams, including product and marketing, to identify value and deliver tailored demos and proposals for clients and prospects that address their business needs / pain points
- Understand clients and prospects’ challenges and needs and translate knowledge of ONci product into customer benefits
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, including tracking and reporting on key metrics
- Meet sales quota targets. This is a quota-carrying sales position with a strong focus on new logo acquisition
- Travel to customer locations in your territory in support of sales efforts (~25% of time)
Key Attributes
- Sales and business development experience, with a willingness to develop skills in selling SaaS/software to C-suite decision makers at financial institutions in the US
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence key decision makers
- A hunter mentality with strong work ethic and a drive to succeed in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Experience in new lead generation through a variety of sources (personal network, connections, LinkedIn, industry events and conferences, cold outreach)
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders
Experience
- Experience: 0-3 years of sales experience; entry-level candidates with strong educational background or relevant business development experience may be considered
- Additional Consideration: Experience in SaaS or the financial industry is beneficial
