Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Basic technical skills and general experience working with property assets are required.
  • Candidates should have proficiency operating power tools, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, wet/dry vacuums, and other powered equipment.
  • Candidates should have strong skills managing vendor relationships, ensuring accountability, and achieving quality service results.
  • Candidates should be able to use technology and multiple communication devices.
  • Candidates must be able to manage workload, prioritize tasks independently, and support the store team.
  • Candidates must be able to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
  • Candidates must be able to climb up and down ladders.
  • Candidates must be able to scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds without assistance.
  • Candidates must maintain a flexible schedule aligned with all operating hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with regular and prompt attendance.
  • Candidates must be capable of working in and being exposed to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties.
  • Candidates must be able to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
Responsibilities
  • Identify and safely execute preventive and corrective maintenance on building assets and equipment.
  • Complete work in compliance with applicable standards and Target guidelines.
  • Work with vendors and influence timely completion of their work.
  • Influence the store team to ensure project work aligns with property management priorities and financial goals.
  • Work with plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, refrigeration, life safety power systems, and electrical equipment.
  • Evaluate repair-versus-replace decisions and manage costs.
  • Deliver guest experience commitments and create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience.
  • Ensure every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers guest experience commitments and consistent operations.
  • Observe team activity, provide feedback, hold team members accountable, and recognize strong guest experience performance.
  • Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics, identify opportunities, take action to improve results, align the team on appropriate behaviors and execution, celebrate wins, and elevate the guest experience.
  • Use technology, including mobile devices and artificial intelligence, to create, troubleshoot, prioritize, and safely complete work orders.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on building assets and equipment, including plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, refrigeration, life safety power systems, and electrical systems.
  • Follow safety procedures and training, use personal protective equipment, and identify and correct equipment safety hazards.
  • Teach and train the store team to follow safety procedures.
  • Identify and perform corrective maintenance on building assets.
  • Inform and engage the store leadership team about property management workload priorities and the impact of store processes on asset care, maintenance, and functionality.
  • Lead and demonstrate execution of team onboarding and learning best practices, and help close skill gaps through development, coaching, and team interactions.
  • Evaluate store brand and ensure assets and vendor performance meet maintenance and functionality standards with guidance from the Property Management Business Partner.
  • Assist with special projects and remodels and support property management assets and service strategies in partnership with the store team.
  • Ensure internal and external work orders are completed safely and efficiently and that vendors are accountable for assigned or routed work orders.
  • Assist in managing emergency situations in partnership with store and field leaders.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches, being authentic and respectful, and creating equitable experiences.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of technical education in electrical, mechanical, carpentry, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, or plumbing is preferred.
  • Experience with basic door repair, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning filter changing, carpentry, power equipment or mechanical repair, and basic equipment troubleshooting is preferred.
