Cash Applications Representative 1

Job Description:

• Apply credit card payments to customer accounts with precision and timeliness
• Reconcile daily credit card transaction reports with bank deposits and internal records
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, chargebacks, and payment variances
• Collaborate with customer service and collections teams to ensure proper account resolution
• Monitor and report on unapplied cash and aged items
• Maintain documentation and audit trails for all transactions
• Assist in month-end closing activities and financial reporting
• Identify process improvement opportunities and support automation initiatives

Job Requirements:

Knowledge and Qualifications:

• 1-3 years’ experience in similar customer-focused roles.
• Credit – Collection - Cash Applications qualification is desirable.
• Proficient with computer skills (Excel, Other Office tools, Outlook, CRM).
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• College-level education in Finance, Accounting, Business, or equivalent (E.g., Technical degree).

Critical Skills/Technical Know-How:

• Fluent in English.
• Aptitude for a customer-oriented and service-minded approach.
• Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
• Familiarity with PCI compliance and data security standards.
• Knowledge of B2B or e-commerce payment environments
• Experience with merchant services platforms.
• Understanding of the Order to Cash process and use of automation tools is desirable.
