Requirements
  • Proficient in bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing with a solid understanding of climbing fundamentals.
  • Ability to explain climbing techniques clearly and effectively to youth athletes.
  • Patient, enthusiastic, and capable of working with kids of different ages and skill levels.
  • Creative instruction: Innovative in creating fun, engaging, and effective coaching sessions.
  • Collaborative: Excited to work as part of a team to provide an exceptional experience for our climbers.
  • Availability: Must be available to coach on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM, and Fridays from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
  • Development Team availability: Must be available to coach the Development Team on Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:45 PM to 7:30 PM.
Responsibilities
  • Coach the Development Team and/or Camp and Club, focusing on bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing.
  • Teach and reinforce climbing techniques such as footwork, body positioning, movement efficiency, and route reading.
  • Develop and lead strength training programs tailored to the needs of youth climbers, emphasizing injury prevention and appropriate strength gains.
  • Create an enjoyable and engaging learning environment for kids of various ability levels and learning styles.
  • Collaborate with other coaches to design and implement high-quality training programs for Team Touchstone.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes growth, learning, and a love for climbing.
Desired Qualifications
  • Competition Climbing Experience: Experience in competitive climbing is desirable, but not required.
