Data Architect

Job Description:
The Data Architect with financial services background will play a key role in designing, documenting, and implementing scalable, secure, and future-ready data architecture solutions within a leading financial services organization. This position involves evaluating the current state of data usage and ETL processes, developing the future data architecture, and influencing the overall data strategy. With a strong background in financial services, the Data Architect will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, steering data and cloud transformation efforts that align with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Architecture and Strategy Development:
Assess and document current data consumption and ETL practices within the organization.
Define a future state architecture that supports scalable, secure, and compliant data infrastructure both for on premise as well as for various cloud platforms.
Influence the data strategy and ensure alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
2. Solution Design and Implementation:
Design secure, cost-effective, and high-performing on premise and cloud solutions, ensuring alignment with financial services regulatory standards.
Lead technical teams in implementing cloud-based solutions, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like CloudFormation and Terraform.
Architect solutions to ensure scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency while minimizing risk.
3. Technical Leadership and Mentorship:
Provide technical leadership, training, and mentorship to development teams on cloud services, cloud-native application development, and best practices.
Advise CIOs, CISOs, Boards of Directors, and other senior stakeholders as a strategic cloud transformation expert.
4. Security and Compliance:
Implement security best practices, ensuring data protection and compliance with industry regulations.
Configure IAM, encryption, and other security services to protect data integrity, confidentiality, and availability.
5. Monitoring and Optimization:
Set up comprehensive monitoring and logging using cloud services and third-party tools to ensure resource availability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
Continuously assess resources for optimization opportunities and cost-saving measures.
6. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
Design and implement robust Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery solutions for critical data recovery.
7. Stakeholder Engagement and Documentation:
Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including client leaders as well as cloud partner representatives
Document all architectural designs, processes, and best practices, and conduct knowledge transfer sessions for clients and internal teams.
Required Qualifications:
•Experience in roles such as Enterprise Data Architect or Solutions Architect with financial services background.
•Technical Skills: Advanced expertise in cloud services across compute, storage, networking, and security. Strong understanding of cloud-native applications, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
•Industry Knowledge: Deep familiarity with BFSI regulatory frameworks and a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles within financial services.
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field. Advanced degrees or Advanced Cloud certifications are a plus.
•Soft Skills: Strong communication and advisory skills to influence strategy and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
