Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced environment, dispatching, or transportation coordination is required.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards within the United States is required.
  • Proficiency in using dispatch software and GPS tracking systems is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, with the ability to provide clear, concise instructions.
  • Ability to effectively operate email, mapping software, and computer systems for data entry is required.
  • Ability to prioritize high-volume tasks and adjust schedules as needed is required.
  • Dexterity of the hands and fingers is required to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other communications or computer components.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 55 pounds is required.
Responsibilities
  • Schedule and dispatch drivers and vehicles to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
  • Monitor shipment progress and communicate proactively with drivers and customers regarding delays or issues.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to manage loading and unloading schedules and inventory availability.
  • Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, driver logs, and shipment details in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Resolve logistical problems such as route changes, vehicle breakdowns, delivery discrepancies, service interruptions, and unexpected issues, acting promptly and effectively as the liaison between field units and customers or supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards during all phases of transportation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve logistics processes and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Travel overnight at management's discretion.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Associate degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with transportation management systems and advanced routing software is preferred.
