Requirements
  • Bachelor degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or equivalent; MBA, CFA, and/or CPA certification preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in senior finance leadership positions, collaborating closely with executives.
  • 10+ years of finance leadership experience preferably within the technology industry in the US or Canada.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial management, analysis, tools and reporting methodologies.
  • Strong expertise in financial regulations, accounting principles, and taxation.

Responsibilities
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Comprehensive budget preparation and oversight, involving the development of annual operating budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Regularly collaborate with leadership, working together to monitor and adjust budgets as needed to protect cash flow.
  • Financial Reporting: Produce accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Monitor and report on financial performance against budget and make necessary adjustments. Present financial results to the executive team and board of directors. Manage month end close and generate monthly financial statements.
  • Cash Management: Manage cash flow, investments, and banking relationships. Optimize working capital and minimize financial costs. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow projections and reconciliations.
  • Long term financing planning: Work closely with the leadership on pro-forma modeling, planning, investor communications and fundraising activities.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax requirements. Stay current with industry best practices.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks. Implement effective internal controls to safeguard the company's assets.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making. Evaluate investment opportunities, pricing strategies, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Financial Systems: Develop, enhance, and refine financial systems and procedures; aligning them with industry best practices while tailoring them to the company's distinct requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Lead by example in developing, motivating, recruiting, and retaining a highly effective finance team. Inspire change and collaboration among a diverse and distributed team. Encourage sharing of best practices and insights across all members of the team.
