View

Charles River Analytics conducts AI, robotics, and human–machine interface R&D to create custom, practical solutions. They take foundational research and turn it into human-centered intelligent systems that run on edge devices, developing complete systems through close collaboration with customers. Their approach centers on translating complex research into usable technology rather than just ideas, with a focus on real-world deployment. Compared with competitors, they emphasize long-term partnerships and a culture of employee ownership since 2012, which supports stable teams and sustained customer focus while delivering tailored edge intelligence and integrated human–machine solutions. The company’s goal is to deliver deployable, human-centered intelligent systems that enable people and machines to work together more effectively at the edge, solving hard problems at the intersection of human and machine intelligence.

What believers are saying

  • DARPA awarded $4.2M for CACHE cybersecurity compartmentalization in 2026.
  • Navy contracts expand speech processing and virtual training materials development.
  • Air Force funds XR for space domain awareness and human-AI teaming UI.

What critics are saying

  • Federal budget cuts slash 15-20% R&D funding, terminating CACHE in 6-12 months.
  • OpenAI captures 30% DoD TTP market, undercutting CADE and GRAVITY in 12-18 months.
  • Export controls block HAMLET sales, nullifying $2.4M DARPA investment in 6-12 months.

What makes Charles River Analytics unique

  • CACHE decomposes software into protected compartments using commodity hardware.
  • CIRCE exploits attacker cognitive biases via cyberpsychology for IARPA ReSCIND.
  • GRAVITY applies game theory to model vulnerabilities and counterstrategies.
