What You'll Do

• Lead the design and execution of test strategies for Extract Transform Load (ETL) pipelines, data transformations, and BI dashboards.
• Analyze large datasets to identify and resolve data quality issues.
• Conduct both manual and automated testing for data ingestion pipelines, data transformations, and business reports.
• Validate Power BI dashboards and reports for data correctness, layout integrity, and performance.
• Develop and implement Quality Assurance Frameworks to ensure consistency.
• Automate data validations using SQL and Python, employing tools like PyTest and dbt tests.
• Perform cross-system data comparisons to ensure consistency across data layers and reports.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to understand business logic and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, cases, and defect logs in systems like Jira.
• Participate in agile sprints, release planning, and code reviews to integrate QA early in the development cycle.
• Mentor fellow QA engineers, promoting a culture of quality assurance and standard processes.

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years in QA roles with a focus on data engineering and reporting environments.
• Proven experience in crafting and completing detailed test plans and test cases, including functional, non-functional, and regression testing.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and validating large datasets.
• Experience testing Power BI reports and dashboards or similar tools like Tableau or Looker.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks such as PyTest, Selenium, and dbt tests.
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools, Airflow, and data warehouses like Snowflake or BigQuery.
• Proficiency with version control systems (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and issue tracking tools like Jira.
• Exposure to Power BI DAX expressions and filters for deeper validation is a plus.
• Experience with API testing tools like Postman or REST Assured.
• Background in BI regression testing and automated report verification.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.
