As an HR Staff Manager based in Ottawa, Canada, you will lead end-to-end recruiting efforts across a spectrum of roles, including strategic senior-level positions. You will partner closely with hiring managers to understand workforce needs, develop tailored recruiting strategies, and attract top talent that aligns with Lumentum’s core values and business goals. This role offers the unique opportunity to drive recruiting initiatives in the technology sector, requiring an individual who is well-connected within the Ottawa market and has a deep understanding of technical positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for all assigned roles, including technical, co-op, and senior-level strategic positions, ensuring a seamless candidate experience.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers to align recruiting efforts with business needs.
- Oversee one direct report, providing mentorship and guidance in recruiting best practices and market insights.
- Develop proactive strategies for sourcing high-quality candidates through a variety of channels, including networking, direct sourcing, partnerships, and digital platforms.
- Leverage recruitment data and analytics to track hiring effectiveness, identify bottlenecks, and inform strategic decisions to optimize recruitment processes and ensure alignment with organization hiring goals.
- Build and maintain a robust network within the Ottawa technology sector to drive talent engagement and attract passive candidates.
- Collaborate on best practices for universities co-op programs and early career hire initiatives.
- Drive diversity recruitment initiatives to support Lumentum’s commitment to an inclusive workforce.
- Analyze recruiting metrics to improve efficiency and make data-driven recommendations for talent acquisition strategies.
- Stay current with industry trends, compensation benchmarks, and competitive hiring practices in the Ottawa market.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive recruiting experience, with a proven track record in the technology sector.
- Experience recruiting technical talent within the Ottawa market, with an established network of industry contacts.
- Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with hiring managers and senior stakeholders effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze recruitment metrics and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages to attract top talent.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with a proactive approach to handling multiple priorities.
