Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical preferred) or related field; or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 1-5 years’ experience working in the construction field in similar and/or related position(s)
  • Excellent initiative, interpersonal communications skills, and a demonstrated ability to influence others
  • Possess a passion for sharing knowledge through supporting and teaching peers in your area of expertise
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, deal with ambiguity and manage high volume projects
  • Ability to read engineering plans, drawings, submittals, electrical schematics, etc....
  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and balance requirements of multiple and varied duties and tasks
  • English language: ability to read and write correspondence in English is a must
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on VFDs and related products for sales and project engineers
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoot VFD-related issues, including electrical and programming faults
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on VFDs to ensure optimal performance
  • Collaborate with technicians and engineers to implement VFD solutions
  • Provide technical support and training to customers and internal employees on VFD operation and maintenance
  • Understand IEE519 to engage in detailed technical discussions with customers and engineers
  • Coordinate factory visits, industry association presentations (such as ASHRAE), and client meetings
  • Monitor and maintain market knowledge of competitive information
  • Review and write technical specifications
  • Represent the company positively to other trades, contractors, and owners
  • Work in a team-based environment to share information and workload to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Document all servicing activities for future reference and billing purposes
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required
  • Travel is required
Desired Qualifications
  • System level understanding of various HVAC systems, as well as controls and building automation systems
  • Computer programming experience is a plus
  • Spanish language is a plus
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to communicate and transfer knowledge in a precise, concise and logical manner
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
