ONC is a nonprofit, nonpartisan media and civic-education organization that produces articles, podcasts, videos, policy proposals, and an educational book, created by students from across the political spectrum. It operates through a network of over 900 student interns and volunteers guided by professionals, publishing content on its website and social channels and offering unpaid internships to gain experience. Unlike partisan outlets, it is a youth-led think tank and media group focused on problem-solving, civil discourse, and balanced information, funded by tax-deductible donations and grants. Its goal is to become a trusted, household name for fair, respectful political information and to help Americans engage more constructively with public policy.

What believers are saying

  • ONC organized as a 501(c)(3) in 2024, improving donor appeal.
  • Its June 2026 about page explicitly seeks tax-deductible contributions for expansion.
  • The podcast and writer programs remained active through August 2026, showing operating continuity.

What critics are saying

  • The August 2026 homepage promotes Noahide Laws, risking credibility with mainstream readers.
  • ONC still runs unpaid internships in 2026, limiting talent retention and professionalization.
  • If donations stall, ONC cannot fund stipends, tech upgrades, or sustained growth.

What makes Our National Conversation unique

  • Jeff Hall built ONC as a 2020 student-driven, nonpartisan media nonprofit.
  • ONC mixes news, podcasts, opinions, and policy proposals across eight policy areas.
  • Its 2026 writer pipeline keeps conservative, progressive, and moderate voices publishing together.
