SALES ACCOUNT MANAGER – Industrial gases
Air Products is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Account Manager for an immediate opportunity. This is a resident-based position, and the ideal candidate should reside in Southeast Louisiana. The role requires approximately 50% travel to the designated territories, which includes our manufacturing facilities across the eastern Gulf Coast region, covering a multistate area that spans mid-central Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the western Florida panhandle.

This position is responsible for selling liquid nitrogen, oxygen, argon, hydrogen, Helium and related products, applications, and equipment to customers in the food/beverage, metals, medical, pharmaceuticals and the chemicals industry.
Primary Responsibilities:
Existing Customer Account Management - Managing Customer Relationships, Customer Value Creation, Wallet Share Growth, Profit Management
New Business Development - Selling N. America portfolio of Products, Equipment and Services to amenable Market, including New to Market and Competitive Account Prospects
Principal Accountabilities:
Strong emphasis on prospecting including high rate of call activity and timely Direct Marketing follow-up.
Establish a network of referrals to develop opportunity pipeline growth.
Use contracts and relationships to increase EBITDA margin expansion opportunity within customer portfolio. Understanding contractual language is a must.
Build and maintain relationships with prospects and customers.
Use P&L and maintain CRM tools.
The incumbent will partner closely with key stakeholders including Inside Sales, Strategic Account Managers, Business Managers, Commercial Director, Commercial Technology (Central and Field), Asset Management, Onsite Business Development, Engineering, Logistics, Marketing and Operations.
Follow industry trends related to products and services within territory activities.
Support Air Products’ marketing efforts, such as seminars and trade show demonstrations
Required Qualifications:
College degree, preferably in business or engineering, or equivalent experience with strong technical skill.
4-5 years of optimally proven sales experience and portfolio management.
High level of integrity and work ethic
Self-motivated and positive demeanor
Strong understanding of business risks and opportunities
Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Ability to lead all facets of the sales process including but not limited to: Prospecting, Preparing/Presenting Proposals and Contracts, Negotiating
Preferred Qualifications:
Industrial gas experience
Work Hours / Travel Requirement:
Schedule: Monday to Friday, typical business hours
Work Model: Remote and Travel
On-call: no
Travel: Willingness to travel a total of ~50%. Mostly day trips with ~20-30% being overnight trips.
Typical Location: Eastern gulf coast region in a multistate area of mid-central LA, MS, AL and western panhandle of FL.
