About the role
As an Associate within our Optimization team, you will work with several departments across product, engineering, concierge to further guide the success and optimization of Oscar’s Enrollment & Billing operations. You will ensure operational success on departments important to Oscar by breaking down complex problems, driving the development of process improvements, and facilitating support where needed to ensure sustainable solutions. You will work on projects defined by E&B leadership that involve Oscar’s Enrollment & Billing systems & controls. You will influence the design and implementation of system configuration for our suite of tools for E&B operations.
You will report to the Manager, Enrollment & Billing Optimization.
This is a remote / work-from-home role. You must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, or Washington, D.C. The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is: $96,000 - $126,000 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $86,400 - $113,400 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar’s unlimited vacation program, and annual performance bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Oversee designs and prioritizes technical operations roadmaps working to implement and improve efficacy and efficiency of existing operational processes or unlock new capabilities
- Lead and cross collaborates on iterative problem definition and technical design/scoping to build solutions
- Use data to independently guide business decisions to impact strategy
- Identify risks; respond to and resolves issues/errors/escalations through investigation to produce insights for short/medium/long-term technology-enabled solutions
- Distills the requirements of new product and market expansions and designs automated workflows to reduce manual work requirements
- Support engineers, analysts and other Operations team members to resolve escalations through issue investigation to produce insights, training, and technical tooling
- Understand the operations ecosystem, technology and data models and its current strengths, weaknesses, and gaps.
- Maintain relationships with relevant partners as a representative of Insurance Operations
Qualifications
- A technical bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of commensurate experience
- 3+ years experience in a technical role (QA analyst, PM, operations analyst, finance, consulting, industrial engineering)
- 2+ years experience in Enrollment and Billing in an Health Insurance Company
- Technical proficiency in SQL
- 1+ year(s) experience in analytics pulling/querying data out of a database
Bonus Points
- 4+ years of work experience in health insurance and operations
- Experience coordinating with teams and external partners
- Experience designing and improving workflows and standing up operating procedures to mirror those

Pay Transparency:
Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
