Requirements
  • 8+ years of professional experience in a Software Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or systems-focused role
  • Passion about building reliable, high-performance platforms that are easy to monitor, maintain, use, and extend
  • Significant career experience building and supporting mission-critical systems that are high-throughput or high-uptime (ideally both)
  • Extensive experience working with AWS, GCP, or other cloud computing platforms
  • Experience working with virtualization, containerization, and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, etc)
  • Previous success mentoring and training technical team members
  • Demonstrated expertise in Linux systems administration and monitoring
  • Experience implementing CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
  • Strong debugging skills, especially for complex production systems
  • A bias for automation and using technology to remove operational load, with awareness of time tradeoffs
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent experience
Desired Qualifications
  • Expertise in at least one programming language ( points for Python, Java, Go) as well as comfort reading and programming in others
  • A background in drug development or another healthcare or biotechnology field
  • A deep understanding of Python or Java environments and virtual machines
  • Experience implementing and debugging distributed systems
  • Professional experience programming in Java
  • Experience with HIPAA compliance or other requirements around sensitive data
