Requirements
  • You hold a degree in computer science or similar subject
  • At least 1+ years of working experience in a similar backend engineering position
  • Comfortable designing, implementing and maintaining systems with Java
  • Familiarity with other languages when needed (e.g Python, Scala)
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Interest in keeping up with current best practices in your areas of expertise
  • Comfortable working with modern infrastructure and tools
  • Comfortable running your software in Linux environments
  • Good understanding of data structures and algorithms
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and deploy backend services with a focus on high availability, low latency and scalability
  • Build and operate infrastructure, toolset and deployment pipelines
  • Collaborate closely with other engineers in the team and product area and also across Spotify
  • Take operational responsibility for the services that are owned by your team, including taking part in an on-call and goalie rotation
  • Continuously improve our product by innovating on the service and being close with other development and product teams
