GreenSlate provides cloud-based payroll and accounting software tailored for the entertainment industry. Its all-in-one platform handles the entire production finance lifecycle—cast and crew payroll and benefits, production accounting, tax credit management, and residuals—using a single database that eliminates the need to move data between different apps. It differentiates itself by offering two Employer of Record options (agency model or GreenSlate as EOR) to give clients flexibility and potential cost savings, and by focusing on the specific needs of film and TV production. The goal is to digitize and streamline production finance workflows, reduce paper-based processes, and scale with the needs of large and growing entertainment productions.

GreenSlate opens Chicago office to help Illinois productions maximise incentive dollars

GreenSlate, an entertainment industry production payroll and accounting platform, has opened a new office in Schaumburg, Illinois, its second US expansion following a New Jersey launch last year. The company now operates eight offices across major production hubs. The Chicago-area office will serve Illinois productions, where GreenSlate's payroll handling fees qualify as eligible expenses under the state's incentive programme, allowing productions to maximise incentive dollars whilst accessing the platform's services. GreenSlate CEO Mike Leiba said the expansion reflects the company's commitment to supporting productions in active markets. The platform serves major clients including Netflix, HBO and Paramount. GreenSlate has appeared three consecutive times on Inc. 5000's list of America's fastest-growing private companies and been named one of Inc.'s Best Workplaces.
