Requirements
- Previous acute care clinical experience is required.
- Critical Care or Emergency Department experience is required.
- The ability to work under stress is required.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school is required.
- An active South Carolina Registered Nurse license or Compact State Registered Nurse license is required.
- Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Direct and lead assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age- and developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.
- Provide patient- and family-centered care using the nursing process and address physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs through assessment, nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, planning, interventions, care coordination, health teaching and promotion, and evaluation of goals and interventions consistent with MUSC policies.
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment by ensuring patient privacy and demonstrating responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior.
- Participate in a professional practice model, including shared governance, adherence to standards of care, peer review, professional development, leadership and clinical excellence, effective teamwork, autonomous practice, accountability, and critical thinking.
- Coordinate effective and efficient delivery of patient care services through care management principles, identify clinical priorities, and initiate actions to improve patient outcomes.
- Participate in shared governance, promote a healthy work environment, and accept personal responsibility for professional growth.
