Build Technologies provides an AI-native platform for real estate and infrastructure that automates the entire development lifecycle for institutional clients using a multi-agent system called Dougie. The platform ingests data from more than 1,600 sources and uses a hierarchy of specialized agents, guided by LangGraph, to handle tasks from site selection and due diligence to permitting, power assessment, and pre-construction design, turning weeks of work into hours. It stands out by delivering end-to-end automation with an integrated multi-agent workflow for large-scale projects, rather than isolated tools, targeting governments, developers, and investors. Its goal is to act as an AI operating partner that speeds up complex development work and to grow its engineering footprint in North America and Europe.

What believers are saying

  • Index Ventures led Build's $8.5 million seed in June 2026, validating category demand.
  • Build says Dougie covers 1,600 sources and has supported 100-plus projects across 15 countries.
  • Tishman Speyer and Stack Infrastructure give Build credible logos in infrastructure-heavy verticals.

What critics are saying

  • Build is pre-scale; one failed deployment can freeze enterprise expansion through 2027.
  • Data-source dependence and workflow hallucinations can trigger bad site decisions, costly delays, and liability.
  • Incumbents like JLL, CBRE, and Autodesk can bundle similar AI faster than Build.

What makes Build Technologies unique

  • Dougie runs on LangGraph, automating CRE workflows from site selection to IC memos.
  • Build targets data centers, energy, and industrial projects with domain experts and agents.
  • Tishman Speyer became an early customer and strategic investor after a July 2026 pilot.
