The role you’ll play:

The Research Ops Manager owns the systems, processes and analytics to step-change our performance in all areas of CB Insights’ Intelligence Unit (IU). As a member of the department’s leadership, you’ll build and enhance our research and analytics capabilities.

Among other tasks, the manager leads cross-functional projects & workflows, designs analytics dashboards, delivers business analytics, and builds AI-enabled tools to empower the research team. The role suits versatile candidates interested in project management, strategy, research and analytics.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

Project manage workflows for efficiency, top quality, and maximum impact.
Drive new research initiatives with extreme focus, top speed, and rigorous quality.
Design dashboards to monitor research performance and develop new analyses.
Lead business intelligence reporting for the IU, and on an ad-hoc basis test hypotheses and develop recommendations for department leadership.
Design and implement data-automation tools and resources; build AI-tools to supercharge analyst workflows.
Think strategically about research to identify new ways to optimize & execute.

Requirements:

4+ years of experience in data science, business intelligence, operations research, or equivalent roles preferred.
BS/BEng required (or equivalent education and work experience in an analytical role).
Superior organization, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
Expert in SQL, Python, and BI tools, and a demonstrated capacity to learn technical skills quickly.

Not required, but a plus if you have:

Venture Capital industry or startup ecosystem knowledge
Some startup experience
Experience with prompt engineering

Please note this is a US-based role.

In addition to base salary, this role is also eligible for a bonus opportunity.

A little bit about our pay practices: Typically, we will hire at our Hiring Target, but actual starting pay may be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, market rate, the qualified pool of candidates, internal compensation, candidate experience, and budgetary constraints.
