Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, engineering, or similar discipline
  • 7+ years of work experience in NERC Reliability Standards, Cyber & Physical Security and the electric regulatory industry
  • Management of managed security services provider activities and documentation
  • Excellent knowledge of desktop and systems design, information security concepts and practices, EMS and SCADA systems, Windows and Linux operating systems, and NERC CIP standards and related internal controls
  • Working knowledge of firewall and switch configuration files for various manufacturers
  • Ability to effectively read and create network block diagrams
  • Knowledge of common industry and IT application network ports and ranges
  • Related auditor or professional certifications or licenses (e.g., CIA, CISSP, CISA)
  • Ability to work on many projects simultaneously with only periodic guidance
  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, including project management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with ERCOT and CAISO
Responsibilities
  • Lead Operational Technology implementation to support requirements with NERC, NIST, and ISO27001 standards, and others as necessary
  • Serve as CIP Senior Manager for operating projects
  • Manage activities related to risk analysis, internal controls implementation, documentation verification, monitoring, and reporting
  • Monitor existing and new Operational Technology requirements, identify impacts to NERC programs and Reliability Standards, and communicate impacts to leadership
  • Develop and lead implementation of cybersecurity requirements including oversight of consultants and service providers
  • Support troubleshooting at operating sites during downtime events or when network health is impacting plant performance
  • Lead and make regulatory filings which may include managing and coordinating outside counsel, consultants, internal SMEs, and other project personnel
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts throughout the organization to analyze, recommend, and support implementation and standardize technology specs, as needed
  • Design and manage internal processes to assess, investigate potential noncompliance events, and design corrective actions and mitigation plans
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with regulators, internal teams, and third-party service providers
  • Actively participate in industry organizations, conferences, workshops, and forums regarding internal controls for existing and new standards and requirements
  • Support compliance and NERC Reliability Standards on-boarding of projects during the construction phases
  • Infrequent site visits to ensure compliance and oversee equipment audit with vendor
