About the Role
The California Expansion (CAXP) team is looking for a City Manager to lead the city of San Diego where we have a big opportunity to grow. The role will be based in our Culver City office.
In this role, the individual will manage a team of Sellers and Account Managers who are responsible for acquiring and growing top merchants in their market.
The role offers the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on the organization, the individual is responsible for making commercial decisions to help us against our goal of winning selection street by street and geo by geo.
City Managers own the results of all sides of the marketplace - not just selection but also experience and the role expectations is 80% commercial work and 20% Ops work (bringing the strategy to a local execution).
What You’ll Do
- Lead Acquisition - Engage directly and through your team with local restaurants and influencers, and understand which brands are key for us to unlock. Staying informed on restaurant trends is key to success in this role, and you will instruct, follow-up and coach your team in the following:
- Pipeline Management
- Lead Allocation & Prioritization
- Customer Facing Time Follow-up
- Consistent Delivering expected/beyond Quota targets.
- Lead Growth - Drive merchant revenue and value on Uber Eats through deepening our partnerships with them, leveraging Uber Eats tools such as marketing and product adoption, as well as new and innovative initiatives. And you will instruct, follow up and coach your team in the following:
- BoB Management
- Upselling marketing tools
- Increase Memberships Penetration.
- Client Facing Time & Deliverables (QBRs)
- Team management– Manage a team of skilled individual contributors that work to retain and grow our Restaurant Partners, while taking a people-first approach to support development opportunities for members of the team.
- Stakeholder Management– Work cross-functionally with our Sales, Product, Operations & Analytics teams to improve the Restaurant partner’s experience and achieve revenue targets.
- Localizing Strategy – Work with the LT team across the CA&PNW org to devise and execute the overall strategy for retaining and growing our SMB restaurant partner base.
Basic Qualifications
- +4 years of experience within the Account Management or Sales
- Previous experience on Client Facing Roles or leading teams with client facing roles.
- Previous Stakeholder Management Experience (interaction with +2 other areas)
- Previous Management/Team Lead Experience for at least 6 months
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Extensive track record of call/seller/am coaching, developing people and building high-performing teams.
- Experience being a leader among peers, influencing cross-functional partners and setting an example for others
- Proven track record of leading initiatives, working cross-functionally to achieve goals, and succeeding in a team environment
- An entrepreneurial mindset, passion for building things, working towards a shared goal, and ownership of outcomes
- The ability to use data to tell the story and influence decisions.
- Experience working closely and communicating effectively with diverse set of stakeholders in an ever-changing, rapid growth environment
- Excellent at building and auditing Account Management processes along with analyzing and articulating problems and opportunities
- High EQ and natural interpersonal skills. A connector and expert communicator
For Culver City, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$112,000 per year - USD$124,000 per year.
