- 2 Year Technical Degree or High School Diploma with 3 years equivalent experience
- A minimum of three years of qualifying plant operations or power plant experience
- Experience equal to a 3rd class NIULPE Power Engineer, with the expectation of passing the NIULPE Class III exam within one year of employment
- The Plant Operator executes preventive and corrective maintenance on all facility and building related systems in order to maintain a comfortable, safe and functional hospital environment for patients, visitors and staff.
- The Plant Operator is responsible for monitoring, adjusting, maintaining, and repairing the boilers, chillers and all related support equipment for the central plant.
- The Plant Operator must also gain familiarity with other utilities and services such as emergency generators, HVAC systems and the fire protection system.
- The Plant Operator will act as the facilities point person when regular support staff and management are not on-site.
