July 30, 2026 SOUTH MIAMI, Fla. and BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - July 30, 2026 - Baptist Health South Florida and Lifepoint Rehabilitation, an operating division of Lifepoint Health, held a celebratory ribbon cutting on Wednesday to officially open the Baptist Health Rehabilitation Hospital in South Miami. The new 62-bed, state-of-the-art building, located at 6201 Sunset Dr., expands regional access to specialized, patient-centered rehabilitation care for individuals recovering from a decline in function due to an injury or illness. "Our partnership with Lifepoint Rehabilitation reflects our shared commitment to expanding access to specialized care and helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes," said Ronald Tolchin, D.O., chief of nonsurgical spine care and rehabilitation, and Kalman Bass Endowed Chair in Pain and Rehabilitative Medicine at Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute, and chief medical officer of Baptist Health Rehabilitation Hospital. "With this new hospital, we can provide highly coordinated, individualized rehabilitation as part of a seamless continuum of care for patients recovering from complex injuries, illnesses and other serious medical conditions." The three-story, 100,000 square-foot facility is designed to serve more than 1,200 patients each year and will provide intensive therapy for patients suffering from traumatic medical situations such as a stroke, orthopedic injury or deconditioning after surgery or illness. The hospital features specialty programs dedicated to neuro, stroke and amputation, alongside distinct clinical environments including bariatric suites, a dedicated neuro unit and rooms specially designed to treat dialysis patients. To promote movement and real-world adaptation, the facility also includes large interdisciplinary therapy gyms, a low-stimulation therapy gym and a therapeutic courtyard featuring gardens, walking paths, miniature golf and shuffleboard. Additionally, a transitional living apartment simulates a residential setting to help patients practice daily living tasks safely before being discharged home. Hospital Sisters Health System and Lifepoint Rehabilitation celebrate grand opening of new rehabilitation hospital in Howard. July 20, 2026 Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) and Lifepoint Rehabilitation, an operating division of Lifepoint Health, recently celebrated the grand opening of the Hospital Sisters Health System | Rehabilitation Hospital. The new 40-bed facility will serve patients across Northeast Wisconsin and is located on South Taylor Street near HSHS St. Mary's Hospital Medical Center. The facility will officially begin serving patients on Tuesday, July 21. The joint-venture hospital expands regional access to specialized rehabilitation care. Equipped with 40 private rooms, the facility doubles the capacity of the current inpatient rehabilitation unit at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital, allowing that space to be repurposed in the future to support acute care demand. Additionally, the rehabilitation hospital introduces Northeast Wisconsin's only dedicated, secure inpatient neurological recovery unit. Harris, Haywood, and Swain hospitals announce expanded financial leadership team. Harris Regional Hospital, Haywood Regional Medical Center, and Swain Community Hospital announced on July 14 an expanded market financial leadership team to enhance collaboration, operational support, and financial stewardship across the region. Under the new structure, Amanda Motley will serve as Market Chief Financial Officer and Jason Godfrey will serve as Market Senior Financial Officer. Both leaders will work with hospital teams to support financial strategy and advance shared priorities for the three Duke LifePoint hospitals. Motley brings over eight years of healthcare finance leadership experience with Lifepoint Health. Her most recent role was Chief Financial Officer at Haywood Regional Medical Center. CARLSBAD, N.M. - Blake Hubbard, former chief executive officer at Valley View Medical Center in Fort Mohave, is now serving as CEO at Carlsbad Medical Center in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Hubbard resigned his post at Lifepoint Health's Valley View in April to pursue an unspecified opportunity elsewhere. That opportunity turned out to be at the 99-bed Carlsbad hospital that is part of the Community Health Systems.
