Tacit builds an AI-powered digital twin platform for building operations that connects to a building’s existing infrastructure—HVAC, BMS, meters, and IoT sensors—to unify data. Its Agentic AI uses context-aware agents to diagnose, troubleshoot, and autonomously adjust systems, reducing the need for manual intervention and addressing issues like HVAC faults. It provides root-cause analysis, predicts equipment degradation, and continuously optimizes energy use in real time based on occupancy and weather, with audit trails ensuring transparency. The goal is to automate a significant portion of building issues to lower operating expenses, reduce energy waste, and free facilities teams for more strategic work.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Pilots show 10–30% energy cost reductions and 10–100x faster fault diagnostics in smart buildings.
  • A UCL pilot delivered £270,000 annual savings and 18% energy reduction in a 42,500 sqm commercial property.
  • Implementation takes days rather than months, enabling rapid deployment across real estate portfolios with immediate ESG impact.

What critics are saying

  • Direct competitor Tacit.io in San Francisco scales HI+AI knowledge-capture for industrial sectors, creating crowded market overlap within 6–12 months.
  • €300K pre-seed funding limits runway for complex BMS/HVAC integrations, risking product delays against well-funded peers like BrainyGas in 3–6 months.
  • Failed integration with BMS vendors like Honeywell or Siemens due to protocol mismatches blocks the unified operational view, killing customer acquisition in 12–18 months.

What makes Tacit unique

  • Tacit deploys multi-agent Agentic AI that autonomously diagnoses and resolves HVAC faults without manual intervention.
  • The platform integrates with 30+ building protocols to create a unified, machine-interpretable digital twin of building operations.
  • Built-in audit trails log every automated action and its reasoning, ensuring full transparency and compliance for real estate owners.
