Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in enterprise risk management, operational risk, financial risk, or related risk disciplines is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of leadership experience managing enterprise risk programs or risk analytics functions is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of people-management experience is required.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship currently or in the future.
  • Experience developing enterprise risk dashboards, key risk indicators, and risk reporting for executive leadership and boards is required.
  • Experience overseeing or partnering with third-party risk management programs is required.
  • Experience conducting enterprise scenario analysis and emerging risk assessments is required.
  • A strong understanding of financial-services risk-management practices and regulatory expectations is required.
  • Experience translating regulatory and legal requirements into practical tools, controls, and workflows is required.
  • Experience with SOC 1 and SOC 2 reviews and committee management is required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, enhancement, and integration of core enterprise risk management programs, including risk appetite, key indicator programs, scenario analysis, and enterprise risk profile development.
  • Develop and maintain the risk taxonomy and risk appetite for approval by the Enterprise Risk Committee and Board, including monitoring, escalation, systems, and tools.
  • Lead the development and monitoring of the key indicator framework, including key risk indicators, key control indicators, key performance indicators, and enterprise risk appetite metrics.
  • Lead enterprise scenario-analysis exercises to assess potential risk events and emerging-risk exposures, and translate outputs into clear implications and action-oriented insights.
  • Ensure risk programs align with enterprise strategy and regulatory expectations.
  • Integrate program outputs into a cohesive enterprise risk view reflecting current and forward-looking risk outlooks.
  • Own the development and execution of enterprise risk reporting, dashboards, and analytic capabilities, including reporting standards, data requirements, and visualization strategies.
  • Translate complex risk data into actionable insights for executive leadership, committees, and the Board.
  • Lead the development of risk-aggregation methodologies across risk domains and integrate data from key risk indicators, risk and control self-assessments, scenario analyses, and risk assessments.
  • Identify risk interdependencies, concentrations, and systemic exposures, and produce enterprise-level views supporting decision-making and prioritization.
  • Oversee the Third and Fourth Party Risk Management Program, including vendor-risk exposure, concentration risk, systemic dependencies, and periodic reporting to stakeholders, the Executive Committee, the Enterprise Risk Committee, and the Board.
  • Establish monitoring and oversight for people, financial, and strategic risks and integrate them into the enterprise risk profile with Finance, Human Resources, and business leaders.
  • Lead the Emerging Risk Program, including external risk review and internal risk signals, and support executive discussions with forward-looking perspectives.
  • Lead development of risk education and training programs, including trainings, newsletters, and meetings, to strengthen enterprise risk awareness and capabilities.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across risk, compliance, technology, operations, and corporate functions.
  • Drive continuous improvement of enterprise risk-management practices and tools and foster proactive risk management through business risk and control champions.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team.
  • Partner across all three lines of defense and key functions, serve as a thought partner to the Chief Risk Officer and executive leadership, and drive data-driven risk management and continuous improvement.
Desired Qualifications
  • An advanced degree such as an MBA, Master of Science, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Certified Risk Management Professional certification is preferred.
  • Financial Risk Manager certification is preferred.
  • Certified Third Party Professional certification is preferred.
  • Substantial experience within the mortgage industry is strongly desired.
