Requirements
  • A Bachelor degree in a relevant field or equivalent trades-related training and experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience managing the design, execution, and measurement of training solutions is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification, are required.
  • Experience creating instructional design and strong graphic design ability are required.
  • A thorough understanding of training processes and adult learner theories is required.
  • The ability to collaborate in a teamwork environment with internal and external contacts is required.
  • Problem-solving skills are required to identify root-cause issues, take appropriate steps for resolution, and teach others how to complete essential tasks.
  • Time-management skills are required to balance multiple competing priorities and demonstrate a sense of urgency.
  • The ability to work independently and contribute positively to a teamwork environment is required.
  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills are required.
  • An environmental, health, and safety mindset and the ability to perform and teach others to work safely are required.

Responsibilities
  • Curate blended learning curricula to meet growing business needs and make them accessible to appropriate learning audiences.
  • Assess, prioritize, and align training initiatives with short-term and long-term strategic organizational goals to increase team-member engagement and profitable revenue impacts.
  • Collect and evaluate data on current skill levels and map solutions to evaluate individual learning and overall team knowledge.
  • Create and communicate the vision and branding of technical training solutions specific to BGIS.
  • Review existing training materials and suggest enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention while remaining relevant to client needs and the HVAC industry.
  • Introduce and execute learning solutions strategically through phased implementation approaches while managing the change process.
  • Observe technician interactions with technology platforms and provide feedback to maximize efficiency in field operations.
  • Lead root-cause identification and focus resources on impactful results within measurable time periods.
  • Maintain knowledge of new training methods and techniques and applicable industry requirements.
  • Champion continuous improvement and a learning-organization mindset to support excellence in client services.
  • Engage people leaders and highlight accountability for the onboarding success of each new team member.
  • Encourage ride-alongs with managers and team members to promote knowledge sharing, best-practice exchange, and subject-matter expertise.
  • Use train-the-trainer opportunities to share knowledge with broader audiences and upgrade client service delivery in a timely manner.
  • Identify effective methods for presenting training materials and ensure physical space, technology, and hands-on learning resources are available.
  • Partner with local trade schools, workforce centers, industry organizations, and other contacts to provide introductions and learning events to BGIS talent in the geographic area.
  • Manage training vendors and third-party relationships, product quality, and methodology to ensure measurable return on investment and achievement of learning outcomes.
  • Deliver and facilitate classroom, on-site, and virtual training presentations, leveraging people-leader and team-member subject-matter expertise where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with internal safety standards and policies and external regulations, with a focus on sustainability and the environment.
  • Design training materials using online authoring tools, reference manuals, simulation exercises, assessments, and resources for people leaders.
  • Collect feedback from learners at multiple levels, including reviews of training solutions and broader perspectives on growth, development, subject-matter expertise, and career advancement.
  • Recommend recognition for achievement of learning objectives, additional focused training, and advancement of learners to higher skill-level challenges.
  • Consult with people leaders to evaluate the effectiveness of training activities.
  • Lead budget discussions and identify resources required to meet annual business objectives.
  • Track training spending against budget allowances and manage investment in learning initiatives.
  • Ensure training milestones and goals are met within approved financial allowances and time frames.
  • Manage the scope of training solutions and ensure project outcomes are clearly defined and trackable.
  • Analyze team-member retention trends by job title or group, people leader, geographic area, tenure, and other key factors.
  • Recommend ways to increase team-member engagement and length of tenure.
  • Contribute to other assigned focus areas and projects.
Desired Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint is preferred.
  • Knowledge of customer relationship management systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, the trades industry, or facility maintenance management is a plus.

Veritas Capital to acquire facilities manager BGIS. July 17, 2026 | John McNulty Veritas Capital has agreed to acquire BGIS from CCMP Capital Advisors and Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo). BGIS runs and maintains buildings and facilities - offices, data centers, and government, healthcare, and industrial sites - for large public and private organizations, handling the engineering, operations, and technology that keep those properties running, a service known in the industry as technical integrated facilities management (IFM). The company oversees more than 65,000 facilities totaling over 620 million square feet globally with a team of more than 12,000. Gord Hicks continues as chief executive officer and will lead the business with his management team. CCMP and AIMCo had backed BGIS since 2019. Veritas Capital, a technology investor focused on companies operating at the intersection of technology and government, manages over $54 billion in assets. James Dimitri, partner and co-head of flagship private equity at Veritas, led the transaction for the firm.
