About Zepz
Zepz is powering two leading global payments brands: WorldRemit and Sendwave. We represent brands that disrupted an industry previously dominated by offline legacy players by taking international money transfers online - making global digital payments fairer, faster, and more flexible.
Our brands currently send from 50 to 130 countries, operate in over 5,000 money transfer corridors worldwide and employ over 1,600 people globally. Zepz is a remote-first employer, with team members located across six continents.
On the sending side, our brands are 100% digital (cashless), increasing convenience and enhancing security. For those receiving money, our brands offer a wide range of options including bank deposit, cash collection, mobile airtime top-up and mobile money. www.zepzpay.com
Our Vision
A world that celebrates migrants’ impact on prosperity, at home and abroad
Our Purpose
To unlock the prosperity of cross-border communities through finance and technology
Our Commitments:
- We act like owners - We are relentlessly delivering for our customers and spending money thoughtfully. Our job is not to do what we can to solve a problem. It’s to ensure that problem is solved. If an attempt to solve a problem doesn’t work, we seek an alternative. If we need help, we request it, and, if necessary, demand it.
- We embrace embarrassing honesty - We function best when we’re open and honest with one another — especially about our challenges and doubts. We lean into uncomfortable conversations and support our colleagues when they do the same.
- We have a bias to action - We get to the first outcomes quickly, iterate and learn. We measure our own and others’ contributions by objectives reached, not time spent. Living a full life outside of work is necessary for high achievement over the long term.
- We strive to be better - We may make mistakes, but always learn from them. We lean into uncomfortable conversations and support our colleagues when they do the same.
- We are inclusive - Both as a team and to our customers, we believe in being part of the narrative of growth for Zepz, regardless of who you are, where you are from and how you show up - as long as it is to better reflect and serve our customers
This Zepz role that supports both Sendwave and WorldRemit
Your key areas of focus
As a Senior Product Manager at Zepz, you’ll join one of our Product Engineering teams, you’ll take ownership of specific parts of your team’s overall roadmap. We are growing fast (yes even now) and at a stage where we want to move fast with high stability. So you’ll have to be comfortable with making progress with incomplete or imperfect information.
In your first few months, you’ll
Start with fully understanding the issue you are trying to solve by digging into user research, analytics, and whatever else is required. You’ll then work on designing a solution, hopefully, one that can be implemented iteratively, together with your engineering team, designers, and as-needed stakeholders from across the company. You’ll work with your team to prioritize it and you’ll ensure that it gets built to spec and shipped. You’ll measure the impact and, assuming it was something user-facing, ensure that our users love it.
What you bring to the table
- The ability to figure out what needs to get built and executed. You probably have a few years of professional product management experience in a high-growth, data-intensive environment. You may have shipped mobile features before.
- Passion for conducting user research. And an eye for good design. You know when small and qualitative research is ideal and when large n quantitative is best. You can’t wait to get out into the field with our market launchers and then collaborate with designers to craft effective, delightful user experiences.
- Clear communication skills. You’ll be making complex tradeoffs about what’s best for our users and our business thoughtfully and collaboratively.
- Data-savviness coupled with an inquisitive and investigative nature. You have a technical background and a broad set of analytics skills. You are driven by curiosity and are not afraid to learn or use new tools, write SQL, dig through tickets in Zendesk, fire up a Jupyter notebook, dig into some python code, or do whatever else it takes for you to frame questions and get data quickly so you and your teams can better understand a problem and prioritize solutions
- Desire to get your hands dirty- we have over half a million MAU but are a startup at heart. You are willing, nay excited, to roll up your sleeves and do whatever needs to be done. Sometimes this means writing SQL, other times it may mean drafting up a copy or a mock (don’t worry, you’ll be able to request help to polish it up)
- Willingness to travel. When in doubt, we get on a plane. Visit our growth team in the field, join co-working sessions with fellow colleagues around the world and meet users where they are (But we also respect vacation time and outside commitments — your time is important.)
Bonus points if you have:
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in a quantitative or technical field such as statistics, economics, electrical engineering, or computer science.
- An understanding of iOS and Android design principles and best practices.
- An aspiration to lead and develop true product teams, not feature teams.
- Creativity, flexibility, and the ability to handle ambiguity gracefully.
- An open mind with respect to diversity and inclusivity. Our team (and customers) come from all over the world.
And the best of all:
- Our team of over 1600+ employees is fully distributed across the world. We are working from coffee shops, homes, and co-working spaces — making us one of the larger fully distributed growth-stage startups in the world.
- We are proud parents, community organizers, farmers, band members, yoga teachers, YouTube influencers, former Olympians, and serial entrepreneurs.
- We collectively speak over twenty languages, including Akuapem, Amharic, Bengali, Ewe, Fante, Ga, Igbo, Kalenjin, Luganda, Oromo, Somali, Swahili, Wolof, Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Irish, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish and Swedish.
- At Zepz, we’re excited about the ways we can collaborate and continue to provide the best service to our users.
