The Production Packaging Associate is responsible for proper packaging of materials and finished products. This position will also load and move material and operate packaging equipment. The Utility Worker will also be required to follow Good Manufacturing Practices. 

• Must be reliable & have excellent attendance and own transportation!
• Mandatory on each shift 8 hours or more: standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, and lifting to 25 lbs.
• Must have good communication skills both verbal and written.
• Good Vision; Meticulous; Proficient with Information Technology.
• Must be able to work-days, afternoon, nights and/or Saturday from time to time.
• Ability to work in a team environment, as well as autonomously, as required.
• If you are scheduled to work midnight shift – you must work on day shift from 6:30 am – 3:00 pm for training purposes before moving to night shift 10:30 pm – 7:00 am.
• Coachable; Professional; Approachable; Quick learner; and Self-motivated.
• Demonstrates good and safe work habits and have a clean working environment.
• Post Secondary Education with 2 to 3 years experience in a manufacturing industry preferred.

 EXPERIENCE: 

• Must be able to speak and understand English. This is a requirement
• Basic mathematical skills are required
• Basic computer experience
• Supervisor, Team Leader is an asset
• Machine Technician, First Aid OR Forklift is an asset

EDUCATION: 

• Prefer High School diploma or general education degree (GED).  

TRAINING: 

• Completion of Altium Production/Packaging Associate training for 30-90 days

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, for any 8-12 hours shift, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee frequently is required to lift and/or move up to 25-30 pounds.   

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in a production environment. 

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.  Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes. 

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
