Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Operations Management or equivalent work experience is beneficial.
  • 2 years or more in a leadership role
  • Internal team members must have completed the Unit Director Development Program
  • Is well-acquainted with logistics and/or distribution operations.
  • Proven leadership track record that has moved a team forward to accomplish measurable goals in an environment while maintaining dignity and respect.
  • Organization skills to meet deadlines and complete tasks across a wide spectrum such as production, accuracy, team relations, safety, sanitation and SG&A control.
  • Development skills to train, teach, set high expectations and providing clear feedback to increase leadership skills.
  • Critical thinking with the ability to be thorough in research, quick to understand the most important factors and variables, utilize sound metrics, and make impartial fact based decisions.
  • Working knowledge to meet compliance requirements of Federal and State regulatory guidelines.
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally within and outside of organization (i.e. working with operations, merchandising, stores, etc.)
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for collaborating with business SMEs to determine accuracy, productivity, safety and sanitation standards for unit.
  • Partner with Supply Chain functional areas to forecast volumes for peak planning. Utilize the information to determine staffing needs for each peak season and partner with Human Resources to outline course of action to meet the goals set.
  • Understand financial metrics set for the unit. Develops process to meet these standards throughout the year and drives accountability to management team for achieving these results.
  • Partners with HR to determine development actions for direct reports. Provides coaching and career growth opportunities to leadership team.
  • Explains and sets plans to variances from period to period and year to year.
  • Focus on distribution continuous improvement and provide recommendations to ways to improve operations.
  • Drive positive culture improvements in assigned location by reviewing team member survey feedback and determining action items for the overall business unit that will positively impact the team. Assign ownership of action items to leaders and ensure accountability of completion.
  • Creates ways of working that actively leverage the different experiences, styles, backgrounds, and perspectives of both his/her team and others.
  • Owns and drives diversity and inclusion activities and initiatives within his/her business.
  • Establishes capital budget needs and understands the impact of the expenditures as it relates to the P&L statement.
