Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or another Human Services field and 3-5 years of experience in substance use and/or mental health treatment, including 1-2 years functioning in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
  • OASAS CASAC certification as an Advanced Counselor if not a licensed NYSED Qualified Health Professional.
  • OASAS Clinical Supervision Foundations I and II training totaling 30 hours, completed within one year of hire by Advanced and Master Level CASACs.
  • Alternatively, a licensed NYSED Qualified Health Professional with LMSW, LMHC, or LCSW licensure and 3-5 years of experience in substance use and/or mental health treatment, including 1-2 years functioning in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed in response to program and staff needs.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality of patient records.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Strong time management, writing, and communication skills, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to supervise, coach, mentor, develop, train, and teach substance use providers and other clinical discipline providers.
  • Ability to implement and monitor policies and procedures in accordance with agency guidelines.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing substance abuse treatment, including confidentiality, security, and privacy of protected health information.
  • Knowledge of OASAS, the Joint Commission, and CSAT guidance.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as administrative backup to the Program Director to ensure smooth day-to-day clinic operations and positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Coordinate and implement clinical services for an assigned multidisciplinary treatment delivery team.
  • Help implement and monitor policies, procedures, and systems for effective and efficient program service delivery.
  • Provide regularly scheduled clinical and administrative supervision to assigned staff.
  • Document supervisory sessions with staff.
  • Assist the Program Director with interviews and new hires; train, appraise, discipline, and potentially terminate subordinate staff as needed.
  • Identify staff training needs and plan, develop, and/or conduct training to maintain and improve clinical staff competency and compliance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate, complete, and timely patient treatment records maintained by staff comply with regulatory requirements and agency policies and procedures.
  • Ensure program staff uphold the agency Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics and comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including 42 CFR confidentiality and HIPAA privacy and security regulations.
