Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM subject, Economics, or Finance is required.
  • At least 1 year and up to 3 years of professional experience in a technical or analytically rigorous role is required; internships and co-ops are considered.
  • Proficiency in Python is required.
  • Practical experience working with APIs and/or databases is required, gained professionally or through substantive project work.
  • The candidate must be able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • The candidate must be client-centric and comfortable working in a fast-paced, commercial environment.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Product to scope presales requirements and define client-aligned technical solutions.
  • Lead early-stage technical qualification alongside Sales by assessing prospect API readiness, understanding existing data infrastructure, identifying internal champions, and defining proof-of-concept success criteria.
  • Deliver technical presentations of the SDK and API capabilities to prospects and clients.
  • Manage trial and proof-of-concept engagements from setup through the conversion decision, owning the technical outcome against defined success criteria and milestones.
  • Address integration and data quality objections and articulate the API's advantages relative to market alternatives.
  • Create bespoke technical solutions and workflows using external interfaces for energy and freight market intelligence use cases.
  • Support newly onboarded API accounts by guiding integrations into client databases, applications, and business intelligence environments.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success Managers and Sales to identify integration opportunities and support deeper product adoption.
  • Surface product feedback and enhancement opportunities to Product and Research and Development teams.
  • Monitor API usage health across active client accounts, track adoption patterns, flag low engagement or unusual drop-off, and initiate proactive outreach.
  • Identify and develop technical champions within client organizations.
  • Surface expansion signals to Sales by connecting client usage patterns to commercial opportunities and flagging them with the relevant account owner.
  • Develop and maintain integration patterns, code examples, and technical documentation in the Solutions GitHub repository, including Python files and Jupyter notebooks.
  • Create tutorials, blog posts, and roadshow materials showcasing the SDK and API capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the broader Solutions Architecture team, including through pair programming, to develop efficient and reusable data scripts.
  • Coach Account Executives on when and how to engage Solutions Architecture, how to handle basic technical questions, and how to position API versus graphical user interface delivery in discovery conversations.
  • Support Research and Development teams in testing new features and improving SDK and API documentation.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with SQL and/or R.
  • A background in statistical or financial modelling.
  • Exposure to commodities, energy markets such as oil and gas or liquefied natural gas, or freight markets through coursework, internships, or prior roles.
  • Experience integrating data into business intelligence platforms such as Tableau or Power BI, or cloud environments such as Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with Jupyter notebooks and GitHub.
  • Understanding of Model Context Protocol servers and their role in connecting artificial intelligence models to external data sources and tools.
  • Experience with agentic artificial intelligence tools and large language model-based development environments such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Codex.
